Kanazawa

We went to Kanazawa in November 2009.
Kanazawa has a population of  460,000.
We flew to Kansai, trained to Osaka where we stayed overnight.  The next day we trained to Kanazawa. This trip takes two hours forty minutes, and passes the large Lake Biwa.

As there is now a bullet train to Kanazawa, you could fly to Tokyo and then take the two and three quarter hour fast train.

From Osaka, on the way, you pass Lake Biwa.

There is a castle in town:

Kanazawa has one of Japan's most famous Parks, Kenrokuen. It is designated as one of Japan's three 'perfect' gardens.

A sculpture, and lights on the main shopping street.

In a shop window.

A river to walk down and talk to dog owners.

There are the famous Geisha district on the east of town, and the Samurai district on the west.

Around town.
